Written and Performed by Rich Kiamco Directed by Dan Bacalzo
An overachieving Filipino boy is born in a small suburban cornfield town in Illinois. He is the kid every student hated; he aced every class and his photo was on the 3rd page of every year book. Then he comes out at age 14 to face hate crimes at school, prayer vigils from Mom and threats of electroshock therapy from Dad. Wrestling with his family's expectations of medical school and his dreams of fashion design, he flees suburbia and escapes to New York City amidst fashionistas, millionaires and con artists in search of love, fame and fortune. The path he follows leads him from costume design for the underworld N.Y.C. comedy scene to Las Vegas becoming a backup dancer. Then he finds himself in need of $12,000 to retain an attorney to get out of a scandal. With sharp humor, poignant honesty, lush sound design and crisp choreography, this epic romp shreds cultural legacy into this hilariously insightful autobiopic adventure. Will he find love, enlightenment or even the perfect shade of beige?
