5 janvier 2005. Le festival international de théâtre GLBT de Montréal, produit par Productions de Village Scene, en 2005 change les dates de production. Cette année où la 2ème édition du festival fonctionnera à partir de 15 au 25 septembre, changé de son programme initial de 3 au13 novembre. La raison du réglage en dates est due à un changement de la période de production de l'Image & Nation Ie festival de film Int'l. GLBT à partir de septembre à l'exactement la même période en novembre a initialement projeté pour le festival de théâtre. Selon le coordonnateur Davyn Ryall de festival : "Nous avons dû ajuster les dates du festival de théâtre car notre communauté ne pourrait pas probablement supporter deux événements culturels semblables en même temps, il ne serions pas justes à nos patrons, à commanditaires et aux medias... Quand nous avons initialement créé le festival le mois de novembre a semblé comme le temps idéal et n'était en conflit avec aucun autre événement principal. Nous avons dû recevoir pourquoi l'Image & Nation a changé leurs dates à partir de septembre en novembre et car nous sommes l'événement plus petit et plus nouvel, nous avons choisi de substituer la fente de temps initiale du festival de film et de tenir notre festival en septembre.

La communauté est habitué à un événement culturel en septembre pendant les neuf dernières années et nous pouvons seulement espérer qu'elles sortiront et supporteront cette nouvelle initiative " Montréal GLBT Int'l. Le festival de théâtre a tenu oct. 28 novembre à 7 a dessiné plus de 1.700 participants avec 11 productions et 7 événements en 2004.

January 5, 2005. The Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival produced by Village Scene Productions changes production dates in 2005. This year the 2nd edition of the festival will run from September 15 to 25 changed from its' original schedule of November 3 to 13. The reason for the adjustment in dates is due to a change in the production period of the Image & Nation Int'l. GLBT Film Festival from September to the exact same period in November originally planned for the theatre festival. According to festival coordinator Davyn Ryall: "We had to adjust the dates of the theatre festival as our community could not possibly support two similar cultural events at the same time, it just would not be fair to our patrons, sponsors and the media ... When we originally created the festival the month of November seemed like the ideal time and did not conflict with any other major events.

We have had to accept why Image & Nation has changed their dates from September to November and as we are the smaller and newer event, we chose to replace the film festival's original time slot and hold our festival in September. The community is used to a cultural event in September for the past nine years and we can only hope that they will come out and support this new initiative. "The Montreal GLBT Int'l. Theatre Festival held Oct. 28 to Nov. 7 drew over 1,700 participants with 11 productions and 7 special events in 2004.
