Written, Choreographed and performed by Louis Kavouras

The popular dance character 'Joe' returns with the new solo dance work, Joe In Winter.  Danced by Louis Kavouras, principal dancer of the Erick Hawkins Dance Company , New York City.  This dance is an intoxicating physical journey that explores how the heart and spirit survive natures coldest and most desolated and isolated winter season.  In the dance Joe comes home to a rejection letter from his lover John.  This immediately plunges Joe into Winter. This dance event explores “Joe” as both real character and metaphor for winter.  The dance opens with the fall and moves through the cold emotional despair of winter towards rebirth of spring.  See Joe as he recovers from a broken heart and discovers what it is to be an average 'Joe'. Joe In Winter is a true visual feast, combining modern dance, innovative music, scenery and video projection. Who is Joe?  Joe is everybody, and nobody.  He is everyone, and he is no one. He is someone you have met, someone you are going to meet, someone you have yet to meet, someone you have dreamed of meeting.  Joe.  Who is Joe?  He is your uncle, your sister, your average Joe.  Joe is clear.  Joe is elusive.  Joe is all of us.  Joe is none of us.  Joe is Joe.
