HARVEST  The Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival - September 21 to 30, 2006.

Produced by: VILLAGE SCENE PRODUCTIONS

Montreal, January 30, 2006: The Harvest theatre festival season gets an early start by inviting companies and performers to enter their submissions for consideration by the selection committee for the 3rd edition of the Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival – HARVEST - a cornucopia of GLBT performing arts: Drama, Comedy, Music, Dance.

This year with a new format we’ll see some changes in the selection process and programming. Starting with the categories of acceptance into the festival: Professional touring productions – international, national and local; Professional and semi-professional - national and local productions; Amateur or novice - local (Province of Quebec) productions. This year a limited number of productions will be accepted to participate in each of the three categories.

If you are interested to participate in the selection process for 2006 and have a project that you wish to mount in the festival this year then we invite you to make your submission. Please advise us by the deadline for your category:

Deadline for submissions for international and national productions - March 5th (submission fee 35$CAD / 30$USD). For local productions - March 15th (submission fee 50$CAD). The final selection line up of all productions accepted into the 2006 Harvest will be announced by April 2nd.

To enter a project for consideration for selection, please forward the following:

We only accept full productions of 40 to 120 minutes (approximately 20 to 60 pages of standard script text) into the festival. The content of the production must contain GLBT themes or be relevant to the GLBT community in topic and entertainment value. We assign 1 to 4 performances per production, scheduled at our discretion. For out of town productions, performances are scheduled in sequence to accommodate a limited stay. For local productions, performance schedules are scattered randomly throughout the entire event. Once the schedule is finalized (June 1st) there can be no changes or adjustments made to it.
