'David' a random hookup in a back-alley in Montreal's Gay Village.
Nick doesn't know it yet, but Friday night he's working his way through all these positions: His past and future are coming together in the present. A one-man show exploring characterization and themes creating a slightly jaded and sympathetic brat called Nick, who is in the process of understanding himself and his environment. He tells the story of a back alley sexual encounter with a young man called David.
'David' is a one-man show about sex. But not just sex as in who's having it and with whom. Sex as in: What is sex? What does it mean? Why do we have sex? Sex as in lust. Sex as love. Sex as power. Sex as self-worth. Sex as self-destruction. Sex as status. Sex as failure.
A well developed theme and character, setting and style, crafting together a powerful voice and dramatic message. Originally inspired by the work of Marie Brassard and other contemporary theatre artists, the production does away with traditional set and props, preferring to use projected video art and original music to give context and texture to the story being told on stage.
