*The film: An adaptation of Bruce Coville's short story 'Am I Blue?'

The story:  Is about Vince, a young boy who is bullied about his sexuality (or other people's perception of it - he doesn't really know what it is) until he is paid a visit by Melvin, his fairy godfather, the very first fairy godfather in history. Melvin explains to Vince that there are plenty of people who don't know who/what they are, and he gives Vince the gift of seeing people's sexuality in terms of shades of blue - dark blue being exclusively queer and lighter blue being "not as committed". Being a fairy godfather, of course, he grants Vince three wishes and Vince uses one of them to give the entire world 'blue vision', to show people that gay people aren't always who you expect them to be, that people they know and love might be gay, and to change people's misconceptions about homosexuality.
